One day a farmer who was ploughing a field near the River Marta, close to Tarquinia, saw a piece of earth rise up from the furrow and take the shape of a young boy. He named him TAGES.
According to Etruscan tradition, Tages was the son of Mother Earth and Genius, as well as being the grandson of Tinia, God of the sky. His divine duality, being both a child and an old man at the same time, indicates his special qualities: purity and experience, integrity and awareness.
In Etruscan mythology, lightening (thrown by a god), is the element that makes Mother Earth pregnant. Its power, light and heat, inseminates the earth during storms. Minerals, "stones of light" are generated by the power of the lightening, as are the "geniuses" of the Earth, like Tages. The gift brought by the divine son of the Earth to the Etruscans was of immense value, and this gift was knowledge.
Tuscany has always been considered the cradle of the Renaissance, the Italian home of art, geniality, taste and quality of life.
It expressed the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, Giotto and Brunelleschi, the ability of sculptors to craft stone, the sculptures and art of the Etruscans, developing a lifestyle that is reflected in a love of culture, a profound sense of aesthetics, excellent manual skills and quality of craftsmanship.
